Luxor, 1 Day
Luxor Visiting Luxor is a fantastic journey through Egypt's history. 3500 years ago, Luxor became Egypt's capital. All the pharaohs who ruled Egypt from the city of Luxor are known as the pharaohs of the New Kingdom. These great pharaohs, such as Ramses II, Tutankhamun, Hatshepsut, and others, built many temples that dominate and fascinate all who visit them. Together, we will visit the most beautiful of these temples. We start our day in the City of the Living by visiting the grand Karnak Temple. Then we’ll have lunch at a restaurant by the Nile, and take a Nile cruise to reach the City of the Dead and visit the temple of Pharaoh Hatshepsut, who was a woman. Finally, we’ll finish the day by entering three tombs in the Valley of the Kings and visiting the statues of Memnon.
The Program: You will be picked up from your hotel around 4:00 AM and driven to Luxor with two professional drivers. We’ll take a break of approximately 20 minutes halfway. In Luxor, we’ll begin with a visit to Karnak Temple, the largest temple in all of Egypt. We will spend approximately 90 minutes there, with a trained Egyptologist guiding us through the temple for around 45 minutes. The visit will end with about 45 minutes of free time for you to take photos on the way back to the bus. After Karnak Temple, we’ll dine at a restaurant with a wonderful view of the Nile. Immediately after the meal, we’ll cross the Nile by boat to the City of the Dead. In the City of the Dead, we will visit Hatshepsut’s Temple, three tombs in the Valley of the Kings, and the massive statues of Memnon. The final stop will be at an alabaster workshop, where you can rest and shop for beautiful and fine souvenirs, as well as genuine stones with a guarantee. Then we’ll return to Hurghada, with a break halfway, and plan to be back at the hotel by around 9:00 PM.
